O problema foi identificado no final de janeiro, no qual a FromSoftware desligou rapidamente os servidores de Dark Souls no PC para evitar ataques aos jogadores por conta da vulnerabilidade. No entanto, muito se perguntava na comunidade se a correção seria aplicada a tempo do lançamento de Elden Ring.

Com o anúncio, aBANDAI NAMCO e FromSoftware destacaram que os servidores estarão todos prontos com o lançamento do Elden Ring em 25 de fevereiro, além de marcar também que essa será a data de retorno dos servidores de Dark Souls, Dark Souls 2 e Dark Souls 3 no PC.

Vale lembrar que Elden Ring será lançado em 25 de fevereiro para as plataformasPC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One e Xbox Series X | S. O game está disponível para compra na pré-venda nas respectivas lojas digitais.

Outro destaque foi Resident Evil: Village, que ganhou três premiações com Best Audio, PlayStation Game of the Year e Ultimate Game of the Year (que considera todas as plataformas). Final Fantasy 14 também recebeu duas premiações com Best Game Community e Still Playing Award (um jogo com longa vida útil).

Vale lembrar que Dark Souls foi o game que popularizou o gênero souls-like, visto que o seu antecessor Demon Souls foi o precursor – ambos os games da FromSoftware. Atualmente Dark Souls possui uma trilogia e a desenvolvedora irá lançar o Elden Ring em 2022, que teve a participação de George R.R. Martin (de Game of Thrones) na criação da história.
